Self-Hypnosis for Better Health

Posted on 23rd Jan 2012 @ 12:45 PM

Hypnotism is a tool that millions of people have used to improve their health. Many people have visited hypnotists to address a myriad of different issues, from losing weight, stopping smoking, relaxation, building confidence, releasing phobias and more.

In reality we deal with suggestions that shape our world and our view of the world all day long. These daily influences are essentially the same as being hypnotized. Just a few ‘hypnotic suggestions’ we receive, in this manner, include marketing slogans, friend’s opinions or comments, books and magazines we read and what we learned as we grew up.

Our repeated thoughts become beliefs. Some of these beliefs are beneficial and some are not. These beliefs are a form of ‘self-hypnotism’. So if you are interested in releasing negative beliefs, auto-hypnotism is a great way to create more positive and supportive beliefs that will support your own goals in life.

Today you can get access to some great audio tracks on the Internet that use hypnotic techniques . . . and many of these are free.

To find these, start with your favorite search engine by typing in “self hypnosis free” or “auto-hypnosis free”. Include additional search words, as appropriate, to fit your needs.

Better yet, go to www.youtube.com and type in similar searches. To obtain a video is not the goal, since you will want to listen to these streams with your eyes closed, but there are many free “videos” that use hypnotism techniques.

For instance, if stress is an issue, start with one of the ”relaxation” audio streams. Letting go of stress and learning to relax is important for most adults in our society to learn. Try many different ‘relaxation videos’ to find one or more that particularly appeals to you. Some of the things that I look for are: a) a voice I can understand and like b) good audio quality and, c) music that I like.

I also suggest that the audio streams are at least 10 minutes long. I think it takes that long to really see how you’re affected. What works for me, I have found, is to listen to the audio streams lying down in a quiet room, though sitting will work too.

Here are some relaxation tracks/streams that I recommend:

You do need to create the time to listen. You may find it to be difficult at first. When you first start to listen to these video streams, you may think ‘this isn’t working’ . . . or you may feel like you have other things you need to do. But stay with it and you’ll reap the benefits. Good luck!
